7 Day Northern Luxury Golf Tour

The golf tour begins in the beautiful county Down where you will check into the Sleive Donard Resort and Spa. Then it takes in Ardglass Golf Course, an 18-hole links course in a natural setting hugging the north-east coast of Ireland, with stunning views, unique golf holes and memorable people.  Day three sees the tour at Royal County Down, located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. Day four visits Castle Rock Golf Links, a true hidden gem in terms of golf courses with a stunning setting. Day five takes in the Royal Portrush Golf Club, which is home to one of the best and most challenging links golf courses in the world, the Dunluce Links, and the hidden gem, the Valley Links. This sixth day will take you on a fantastic tour of Northern Ireland, visiting some breathtaking scenic and historic locations.

Day 1

Arrival

Your golf tour begins in the beautiful county Down where you will check into the Sleive Donard Resort and Spa. Relax and rewind in your surroundings for the evening.

Day 2

Ardglass Golf Course

Ardglass Golf Course is an 18-hole links course in a natural setting hugging the north-east coast of Ireland, with stunning views, unique golf holes and memorable people. Ardglass has the oldest building used as a golf club house in the world. The Irish Sea, which can be seen from all 18 tees and greens, comes into play on no fewer than 8 holes. This is just one of the memorable and unique features of the links at Ardglass Golf Club

Day 3

Royal County Down

Royal County Down is located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. Against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne, the championship links stretches along the shores of Dundrum Bay, zigzagging back and forth to provide a different vista from virtually every hole.

Day 4

Castle Rock Golf Links

A true hidden gem in terms of golf courses. Stunning setting. Excellent conditioning and great place to have a few beers after the round not much more a golfer could ask for. Castlerock Golf Club, is a classic links course set amid towering dunes. Situated on the Causeway coast and only a 20 minute drive from both Royal Portrush Golf Club and Portstewart Golf Club, Castlerock is a more than worthy neighbour to both of these great Irish links.Founded in April 1901, the original course comprised nine holes and was laid out on the western part of the present course. Additional land was leased in 1908 and Ben Sayers, the professional from North Berwick in Scotland, was commissioned to design an eighteen hole layout. Though better known as a club maker, Sayers produced a superb layout and insisted that the links of Castlerock would equal those at Troon, North Berwick and Sandwich. Though not officially recorded, it is known that Harry Colt, while spending much time in Ireland with his work at Royal Portrush, was consulted regarding the redesign of the Castlerock links around 1930. Today, Castlerock is rated as one of Ireland’s finest links courses and its status in the game is reflected by the fact that it has hosted many National Championships both Amateur and Professional.

Day 5

The Royal Portrush

Royal Portrush Golf Club is home to one of the best and most challenging links golf courses in the world, the Dunluce Links, and the hidden gem, the Valley Links. The only club in Ireland to have hosted The Open Championship, Royal Portrush is a members club which welcomes visitors all year round to face the challenges of its courses and to brave the testing conditions.

Day 6

Explore Northern Ireland

This day will take you on a fantastic scenic route valleys, beaches and views of Scotland. The road trip, part of the A2 in Northern Ireland, called the Antrim Coast Road, is one of the most famous road trips in the world. A large section of the road is winding through the countryside, following the scenic coastline. Some parts are even built between large 100m high cliffs and the sea. The glens comprise of nine glens (valleys), that radiate from the Antrim Plateau to the coast. The Glens are an area of outstanding natural beauty and are a major tourist attraction in north Antrim. The main towns and villages in the Glens are Ballycastle, Cushendun, Cushendall, Waterfoot, Carnlough and Glenarm. The Glens are mentioned in the song “Ireland’s Call“.
