With a history as a Viking settlement and key military port, it features landmarks like Charles Fort and James Fort, offers sailing, kayaking, and hiking, and boasts many boutique shops, galleries, and excellent seafood restaurants.

Rock of Cashel

The Rock of Cashel is a spectacular group of medieval buildings in County Tipperary, Ireland, famous as the historic seat of the Kings of Munster and a major centre for early Irish Christianity, featuring a round tower, Romanesque chapel (Cormac’s Chapel), Gothic cathedral, and other ruins set on a limestone outcrop. It’s known for its stunning architecture, Celtic art, rich history (linked to figures like St. Patrick and Brian Boru), and offers incredible views, making it one of Ireland’s most visited sites.

Blarney Castle & Stone

Blarney Castle, in County Cork, is a tower house; a type of fortification built by Gaelic lords and the Anglo-Irish between the 15th and 17th centuries. Tower houses are typically four or five storeys tall with one or two main chambers, plus several ancillary chambers on each floor. The Blarney Stone is a block of carboniferous limestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle near Cork, Ireland, famous for granting the “gift of the gab” (eloquence) to those who kiss it, a tradition requiring visitors to lean backward from the parapet while being held by attendants.

Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links

Located in County Cork on the South West coast, The Old Head of Kinsale is home to a world-class, 18-hole golf course and luxury accommodation. From the tips, the course stretches more than 7,000yd, with a minimum of five tees per hole. Nine holes play along the cliff tops and all 18 holes provide stunning ocean views. A castle has been on the headland since at least the 3rd century, with the current iteration built in 1223. An early lighthouse was established here in the 17th century by Robert Reading.

It is a world-renowned Arnold Palmer-designed links course famous for its stunning Atlantic views, towering dunes, and historic setting, featuring a 12th-century castle ruin near the third hole. It blends a forgiving front nine with a challenging, cliff-hugging back nine, offering a dramatic links experience with strong winds, sandy beaches, and panoramic vistas from its clubhouse.

It offers a classic, rugged links experience with a graveyard near the first tee and a famous tiered 11th hole, contrasting with the club’s newer Cashen Course and providing a quintessential taste of Irish golf.

Doolin / Cliffs of Moher

Doolin in North County Clare is a picturesque village located on the western edge of the Cliffs of Moher. Doolin is an iconic Wild Atlantic Way Discovery point and is close to many of Clare’s best known visitor attractions. Doolin is also known as the home of traditional Irish music (with impromptu sessions kicking off in pubs and keeping things lively till late), played by local musicians who hand tunes down from generation to generation.

The Cliffs of Moher stand as one of Ireland’s most iconic natural wonders, drawing visitors from around the world to the west coast of County Clare. Rising up to 214 meters above the Atlantic, this dramatic stretch of coastline runs for about 14 kilometres, offering panoramic views that extend to the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, and even the mountains of Connemara on clear days.

Lahinch Golf Club

Lahinch Golf Club in County Clare, Ireland, is a world-renowned classic links course, often called the “St Andrews of Ireland“, famous for its challenging, natural dune landscape along the Atlantic. Lahinch features iconic holes like the blind Dell and Klondyke, and is famous for hosting major events like the Irish Open which makes it a must-play for serious golfers.
