Today you will visit Loughcrew Cairns The Cairns at Slieve na Calliagh, are of huge historical importance. With their beginnings stretching back over 5,000 years, they are even older than Newgrange. The legends and stories that surround the tombs have kept it extremely well preserved. Next you will visit the hill of Tara. The Hill of Tara, located near the River Boyne, is an archaeological complex that runs between Navan and Dunshaughlin in County Meath, Leinster, Ireland. It contains a number of ancient monuments, and, according to tradition, was the seat of Árd Rí na hÉireann, or the High King of Ireland. You will then visit the archaeological landscape within Brú na Bóinne which is dominated by the three well-known large passage tombs, Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth, built some 5,000 years ago in the Neolithic or Late Stone Age.
