Experience The North Of Ireland

Ulster is a region defined by powerful landscapes, layered identity, and a 900-hundred years’ history that continues to shape daily life. From the basalt cliffs and Atlantic headlands of Antrim and Donegal to the lakelands of Fermanagh and the drumlin countryside of Monaghan and Cavan, Ulster reveals a dramatic and varied sense of place.

Ulster is made up of nine counties: Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry in Northern Ireland, alongside Donegal, Monaghan, and Cavan in the Republic of Ireland. While these counties share language, folklore, music, and deep cultural ties, Ulster’s history and character also reflects periods of division, particularly between Catholic and Protestant communities, shaped by centuries of political, religious, and social change. These differences – still visible in certain traditions, neighbourhoods, and commemorations – form part of the region’s complex story and lived identity.

In the North Of Ireland, shared heritage and contrasting traditions exist side by side.
